FitFlop Women's Luna Thong Sandal

Category : Shoes

Product Description :

The first FitFlop sandal was sold in 2007, after Dr. David Cook and Darren James (biomechanists at London South Bank University LSBU) collaborated with Marcia Kilgore (an entrepreneur and multi-tasking mum) to create the world ’s first muscle-activating flip flop. Built with simple sport y looking upper straps and an ergonomically engineered Microwobbleboard midsole, the concept was a phenomenal – and global – success. So when fans began to send feedback detailing how ‘fantastic’ FitFlop? sandals made them feel (subsequent research at Salford University uncovered our Microwobbleboard technology had remarkable underfoot-pressure diffusing and shock attenuating properties), Kilgore decided to take this technology and weave it into a full, multi-occasion footwear collection. Now boasting two patent-pending technologies: Microwobbleboard and Biomimetix midsoles, FitFlop’s goal is to create fun, energizing, beautiful shoes that – when you wear them – make you feel like you’ve got the world at your feet.

The Luna Thong looks much better in the photo. The straps are too big and thin/filmsy, giving a poor grip. I personally find the Pietra a much better fit. Disappointed!

I wanted a stylish shoe to withstand lots of walking during a European sight-seeing vacation. I'd recently overcome Achilles tendinitis from running and did not want to reverse my therapy. I've worn Crocs flip flops for years with much success, but they would not take me in and out of cute little cafes as easily, so I opted for the Fit Flop. I have a very wide foot and a high arch so had to return my first pair and go with a size up for a better fit, though was disappointed the shoe was/is ultimately too long. The strap fit well across the top of my foot though with the larger size in this style but the basic style wouldn't fit in any size because it was too tight across the top of my foot. I am 5'6" and about 115 pounds. My sister-in-law has a pair of Sketchers that look similar that actuallly provide a better fit widthwise, though I do not know if that shoe purports the same stability. Unfortunately, I saw hers just days before leaving for our excursion and had no time to investigate. My shoes did just what I needed them to do in Europe, but have since not stood up to the wear and tear of everyday mommyhood. The stiching holding the gems on each shoes has come loose and the decorations dangle instead is resting securely on top. I hope I find my glue gun in time. Unfortunately, I am one and done with Fit Flops.

I discovered Fitflops when my workout buddy told me about them. Since then I've been hooked on the comfort, and cushioning they provided my joints and back. This is a wonderful basic black that I can dress up or down. They run true to size, and though there are no 1/2 sizes the 9 works well for a 9 1/2 foot (as an example). If you are sitting on the fence, go ahead and take the plunge. It may seem like a hefty sum for a pair of flip flops, but these are FITFLOPS! ;-)
